The event will feature multiple hors d’oeuvre stations featuring light food provided by several local catering companies who donated their food and time to make this a special event. They include Steven Simms, Steven’s Catering; Melissa Holden, Mojo Lounge; Mia Cuccina, Sidecar Catering; Craig Langworthy, Red Hot Food Truck and Mary Johnston.
Guests will enjoy the evening downtown Columbus skyline while enjoying food, beverages and acoustical guitar music provided by local artist, Jeff McCargish. The event will also feature recognition of the major sponsors of the 2011 Haxton Invitational and is a wonderful way to kick-off the regatta weekend.
Parking for Haxton Reception at North Bank Park
There are approximately 20 parking meters along Long Street adjacent to North Bank Park. Some of those have been allocated to our boat trailer and event workers, but the rest are available on a first come first serve basis. The meter will be “bagged” for our event. If you park at a meter, you must come to North Bank Park and pick up a “pass” to put on your dashboard so that you will not be towed. Those passes must be returned to the registration area at North Bank Park prior to your leaving the event or we will be charged for replacing the parking passes.
If those spaces are not available when you arrive, we are recommend that you park in the Standard Parking Garage at 300 Neil Avenue which is just east of North Bank Park Pavilion (from the north, turn left on Neil and enter the garage on your right). Rates are hourly and there are no “special events” in the Arena District on Thursday, October 27, so you should expect two hours to be about $6.00 – 7.00 parking for the event.
